David is experienced in corporate management, acquisitions and development with an expertise in mineral exploration and mine development.
David attended the University of Washington and Brigham Young University from 1962 through 1965 studying banking and finance. From 1970 through 1973 He attended the University of Utah and studied geology, materials engineering, metallurgy – X-Ray diffraction. During this period he developed a laboratory for minerals analysis equipped with a Phillips X-Ray diffraction and fluorescence unit, which later became known as CEMCORP Laboratories.
From 1968 through 1979 David became involved in a number of mining investments. In 1968 he formed Cascade Energy and Metals Corporation and acted as its CEO. In 1969 through 1970 he conducted copper porphyry and precious metals exploration programs in the western United States for Pickands Mather & Company, of Cleveland Ohio. In 1969 he acquired the Rex Montis Mine in Inyo, California, the Alexo mine and Gawgonda silver properties in Ontario, Canada and in 1975 he acquired the Telegraph Mine, in San Bernardino, California. Also In 1968 he acquired Minerals Drilling Co., located in Ely Nevada and the Arno Diamond Drilling Company, located In Timmins, Ontario Canada. These companies engaged in extensive drilling and exploration programs for precious metals in the western United States and Ontario, Canada. He managed and conducted the exploration and development work at both the Rex Montis and Telegraph Mine as assisted by geologists Peter Lange and Joseph Owens, among others. He owns the majority interest in the famous Montgomery Shoshone Mine located near Beatty, Nevada.
David has been qualified as an expert witness in mine evaluations in the Federal District Court of Utah and the Superior Court of California.
Dr. Clifford attended the University of Utah in 1960 and from 1963 through 1970. He received his B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering in 1967 and PhD in Metallurgy in 1971.
From 1970 to 1972 he taught Mineral Processing and Coal Preparation at the University of Missouri at Rolla as Assistant Professor.
He joined St. Joe Minerals Corporation in 1972 as Assistant Director of Metallurgical Research. He gained practical mill experience as Mill Metallurgist of the Viburnum Mill in 1973 and more as Director of Metallurgical Research over the Viburnum, Fletcher, Brushy Creek and Indian Creek mills from 1974 through 1976. He managed bench and plant testwork to optimize lead, zinc and copper recovery and concentrate grades. Ken gained the equipment manufacturer’s perspective managing innovative filtration and thickening research and development. He also sized equipment for copper, uranium and coal clients from 1976 to 1978 with EIMCO.
From 1978 to 1980 Dr. Clifford managed the Coal Cleaning program at the Electric Power Research Institute. After generating $15 million for the Coal Cleaning Test Facility, he headed the site selection and EPCM contractor selection.
From 1980 to 1987 Dr. Clifford served as Chief Metallurgist with Chevron Resources in San Fancisco. His responsibilities included acquisition assistance and metallurgical testing coordination of PGM, silver and gold properties. This included the development of Stillwater PGM Resources in Montana and Phosphate expansion at Vernal Utah from 50 to 1000 tph. Ken spent a year as a financial analyst including evaluating the Net Present Value of the Pittsburg and Midway Coal Company acquired with the Gulf merger.
From 1987 to 1989 Dr. Clifford was General Manager of Golden Bear Operating Company, a joint venture between Chevron Resources and a Canadian mining company who sold their interest to Homestake Gold. This included permitting discussions with the Provincial government, building a 110-mile road in 8 months in northwest BC, moving a 110 man camp, mine development, and engineering for the roaster-cyanide leach flowsheet.
From 1989 through 1994 Ken conducted evaluations and operating improvement projects with Kennecott as Sr. Staff Metallurgist. He especially enjoyed mill assignments at Timmins, ONT milling Flambeau copper ore, Greens Creek AK mill audit and Knelson concentrator testing, and KUC molybdenite circuit flotation evaluation.
Since 1994 Ken has consulted with Rio Grande Mining on the Shafter mine currently being brought into production in Texas. He has also evaluated the Gold Hill mining area in Utah and Minas de Oro mining property in Honduras. Dr. Clifford has visited mines in US, Canada, Europe, South America, and Australia to determine mining and milling practice.
Ty currently serves as President & Chief Operating Officer of XOLogic Corp, the leading provider of e-commerce, retail and catalog data services to the lighting industry. [2010-present]
Ty co-founded & served as President & Chief Operating Officer of Deseret Health Group (a long-term care company operating 11 skilled nursing & assisted living facilities). [2005-2010]
As Director of Operations Support Systems for Deltacom, a $600 million/year public company, Ty led service fulfillment & call center end-to-end process improvement, control, software development & automation. [2002-2005]
As Director of Operations Excellence for Worldcom, a public telecommunications company, Ty led service fulfillment & call center end-to-end process improvement, control & automation. [1999-2002]
Ty served as Director of US Technical Support for Packard Bell NEC. Led 3 contact centers with 1200 technical support representatives providing 24/7 support to end-users, along with a $10 million/year fee-based support business. [1994-1999]
Ty holds a bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Utah, and has been certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the largest organization of Quality Professionals in the world.
